By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Present indications are for variable winds, with northerlies prevailing soon and freshening, especially In and southward of Cook Strait. Mild and hazy conditions are probable, with increasing cloudiness generally, for a change to follow, with rain shortly in the west coast and southernmost districts. The barometer has a falling tendency everywhere.
