L WHARF THIEVES SENTENCED. By Telegraph.— Press Association Wellington, May 19. "I don't like sending men with previous good records to gaol, but wharf 1 thefts must be stopped,” said the Magistrate (Mr. Hunt) in sentencing Walter Davidson, a carrier, to one month’s imprisonment, and Albert Barker, Harbor Board storeman, to a fortv night’s imprisonment. The men were concerned in .an attempt to remove nine sacks of potatoes from a shed on the . wharf of which Barker had charge.
