Twenty-seven vessels left Liverpool since the strike began on May 6, the stewards shipped being mostly volunteers, but an increasing number of unionists are offering. Speakers at a mass meeting of stewards in Liverpool admitted that the older unionists were accepting the shipowners’ terms. The Morning Post states that the strike is practically broken.— Aus.-N.Z.
