The Rarawa is due to arrive from Onehunga at 5.30 o’clock this morning with passengers and cargo. She will sail again for Onehunga at 8.20 p.m. ANOTHER LINER TO LOAD. / Advice has been received that the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Peshawar will load meat from the Taranaki Farmers’ Meat Works about the middle of June. The vessel is expected to lift about 10,000 freight carcases. PARITUTU FOR OVERHAUL.
The dredge Paritutu will probably take up her berth near the foot of the wharf on Saturday and have her boilers blown down preparatory to proceeding to Wellington at the enq of the month for annual overhaul. THE PORT BUSY. Four steamers were discharging cargo at the wharf yesterday, including two overseas vessels, the Australcrag and the Maindy Lodge. The Flora completed discharge of her cargo from southern ports, and sailed for Wellington, and the Kennedy was also expected to finish discharging, but at a late hour last night it was not decided whether she would sail for Wanganui or remain in port overnight. PORT SYDNEY TO LOAt). The C. and D. Line advise that the Port Sydney Is to leave Newcastle to-day for Wellington, where she is due on Wednesday. The vessel will load for London at Gisborne, Napier, and Wellington in the order named, and is to go to Australia to fill up. The Port Sydney will proceed Homeward via Durban. KIA ORA LEFT MONTREAL. A cable message received by the New Zealand Shipping Company announces >that the Kia Ora left Montreal on the 16th Instant, cargo-laden for New Zealand ports. The vessel is due at Auckland about June 23, and at Wellington about June 30. ORARI LEFT PANAMA The New Zealand Shipping Company have been notified by cable that the Orari left Panama on the 12th hist, for Wellington, en route from London. THE EASTERN CROWN. Advice has been received that the U.S. and A. Line chartered steamer Eastern Crown left New York on May 4 with general cargo and case oil for Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Tiimaru, Dunedin and Australian ports. The vessel is due at Auckland about June 12 and at Wellington about June 25. CORINTHIC LEFT COLON. Cable advice has been received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company that the Corinthic left Colon on the 16th Inst, for Southampton and London, en route from Wellington. The vessel left Wellington on April 23. A DANGER TO NAVIGATION. A telegram from the Collector of Customs, Westport, states that the master of the Canopus reports that at 8 a.m. on the 14th he sighted a large log floating in Cook Strait, 16 miles west half couth magnetic from Stephen Islart’d. The log is a danger to shipping.
