KAPUNI SPORTS.
The Kapunl Sports Committee were fortunate in having a fine day for their annual fixture yesterday. The events were well filled and closely contested. Mr. J. Paterson, junr., who has been presi- 1 dent of the club for the past fifteen years, is a keen enthusiast, and the success of the fixtures is in no small measure due to his support. Mr. M. Lynskey proved the right man as secretary. There was an attendance of between 650 and 700 people, many coming from Manaia and the surrounding districts. The novelty horse jumping competitionholding three apples on a plate and jumping over five flights of turdles—was won by R. Crocker. G. Smith was second. Mr. Crocker gave an exhibition jump at the conclusion.
