CARDIFF SPORTS.

The Cardiff sports, which are to take place on Thursday promise to be a great success, judging by the very large number of nominations received in each event. In the chopping class no less than 57 nominations have been received, and judging by the previous performances of several of the athletes who have nominated for the local sports, patrons should witness some splendid sport. A challenge chop between Messrs. Reminant and Burr will take place during the day, •and as these two bushmen are a very even match, this event should not be missed. The catering for the sports is in the very capable hands of Mrs. J. Foster (of Hawera). The committee have arrangements well in hand, and every effort will be made to get each event off smartly. Owing to the lengthy programme, the sports will commence at 10.30 a.m. sharp.
