AMERICAN FLEET.
VOYAGE IN THE PACIFIC.
The possibility of an American fleet visiting Australia and New Zealand is mentioned by the Melbourne correspondent of tlie Sydney Morning Herald. No confirmation has been officially received in Melbourne of the previous report. It has been suggested that the plan was projected by the former Administration, but has not yet been considered by the newly appointed American Cabinet. Inquiries about the availability of coal and other supplies are still being made in Australia on behalf of the American authorities, and this would appear to indicate that the arrival of American ships of war in Australian waters may
