SUCCESSFUL BOND ISSUE.
That is the rate at which applications have 'been coming in for the 7 1 per cent. Bearer Bond Issue of the N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Association of Canterbury, Ltd.— over £9 a minute during the fourteen 24-hour days, making a total of £190,000 for the first fortnight. This is convincing evidence of the people’s confidence in New Zealand’s future prosperity, and in the stability of the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association of Canterbury, Ltd.—the old-estab-lished “Co-op” with 39 years of experience and success behind it. Applications are arriving from all parts of the Dominion, for sums ranging from £25 to £3OOO. The response has been truly national, as evidenced by these details of the applications from outside Canterbury: Auckland City, £14,000; Wellington City, £19.000; Dunedin City, £22,000; Nelson City, £10,000; Wanganui,. £6OOO, and so on. Occupations of ap- ■ plicants number 122, including accountants, architects, bakers, bank managers, bootmakers, butlers, carpenters, constables, clergymen, doctors, dentists, farmers, jewellers, journalists, miners, nurses and others. The security supporting the issue amounted, as at March 31 last, to over one and a half millions' (certified by Newburgh, Best and Co., public accountants, Christchurch).
