CORRESPONDENCE.
BARGAIN DAYS. (To the Editor.) Sir, —I write in reference to a letter in your paper of the 10th inst., alluding to the Saturday half-holiday. Now, sir, the point which I wish to-stress is the fact of having Friday as bargain day, accompanied to the musical strains of “Home Sweet Home" on Saturday. The music business does not appeal to me, unless a onan is turning the handle of an organ for a livelihood, which he cannot obtain otherwise. We all have a certain spending power, and if the writer of yesterday’s letter thinks that music is going to improve the position, then I think he is sadly mistaken. What I should suggest, considering the hardships prevailing, that the writer has five and a half bargain days per week, and give the public of this town a chance to get some of their own back.—l am, etc., BARGAIN HUNTER.
