A fire in Lyons destroyed a huge quantity of military stores much of which was destined for 'the army of occupation in Rhineland. The damage ■is over 20 million francs. The cause h unknown. The Labor organisations have resolved on a general strike on the 26th in support of the seamen who have been out for some days. One hundred and twenty thousand men are involved, but 'the railways, postal services, hospitals and the workers’ own institutions are not included in the strike. The Premier, M. Hara, has called ‘a conference of the highest military and civil authorities in Siberia, Manchuria, Korea,. Shantung and Kwantung to be held in Tokio on May 15. It is understood the object is to discuss and fix Japan’s Far-Eastern policies, including the possible withdrawal of the armies from these regions.
