LONDON MARKETS. THE WOOL POSITION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, May 11. Talisman, 5s lOd and 6s 3d. Lead.—lmports 7951 tons, Australian 250 tons, exports 20G5 tons. Ta110w.—2658 casks offered and 1758 sold. Mutton, fine 35s Gd, medium 325; beef, fine 38s, medium 32s 6d; good mixed 33s 6d. At the free wool sale a good selection of Queensland and West Australia merinos, both greasy and scoured, were keenly competed for by the Continent and Home buyers at full late rates. A small selection of crossbreds were mostly taken by the Continent at full rates. The reports of the Melbourne sales have given general satisfaction in wool circles, and are regarded as an indication of the revival of confidence and falsifying the pessimistic prophesies recently rife in Australia. The Colonial Wool Merchants’ Association has fixed the quantities for the June sales at 3 00,000, comprising 60,000 bales Bawra and all free arrivals to April 9. London, May 11. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency, Ltd., has declared an interim' dividend of 2 per cent, tax free. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLED REPORT.
