UNEMPLOYMENT.
POSSIBILITY OF INCREASE. NO MONEY FOR MORE WORKS. By Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Replying to a Labor deputation, asking the Government to reconsider its decision to curtail public building operations in order to find work for unemployed, the Acting-Premier (Sir Francis Bell) said the Government was doing its best with the money available. There was a possibility of increased unemployment, and that would be provided for. If Mr. Massey could raise a loan in London it would ease the position, but even so there were claims that would rival those of the deputation. The position shortly was that Sir Francis Bell held the keys of the Treasury, but there was simply nothing in it.
