CHANGES IN ACT PROPOSED.

Replying to-day to a Palmerston North deputation, which urged an amendment of the Shops and Offices Act to compel all retail traders to close on the statutory half-holiday decided upon by the ratepay era’ poll, the Hon. G. J. Anderson (Minister of Labor) said he hoped to have the Act considerably amended during the next session. To that end he was accepting suggestions for alterations and improvements and he would be very pleased to give very careful consideration to Lheir representations wtten the Bill was being pepared.
