DEATH FROM A FALL.

By Telegraph —Press Association Auckland, Last Night. Leonard Tamlin, a seaman on the cruiser Chatham, fell over the bannisters at the Market Hotel and fractured bis skull. He died on admission to hospital.

DEATH IN POLICE CELL.

Wellington, May 6. Thomas Herbert Cook, aged 55, who was arrested last night in a pitiful condition as an idle and disorderly person, was found dead in the police cell this morning.
