A splendid programme has been arranged for the tournament on Friday, May 13. The principal attraction is the professional bout between G. Richards and T. Thompson for a purse of £lOO. Both are in good form, and are confident of winning. It has been decided that the winner takes the whole purse, the loser taking nothing. Four special amateur bouts have been arranged, and the finest amateur talent that has been seen in New Plymouth will be in action. The feather-weight contest is between G. Hope, of New Plymouth, and A. Humphreys, of Eltlram; the light-weight between Brosnan, of New Plymouth, and Willis, of New Plymouth, the latter formerly the High School champion; the welter-weight between A. E. Clarry, the brilliant Eltham performer, and C. Oakes, of New Plymouth; whilst a special bout has been arranged between G. Thomas (Wanganui), and F. Canute (Stratford), each of whom is a great public favorite. A special professional bout will be given by Hart, a prominent New South Wales boxer, and Dunlop, of New Plymouth.
