AMERICA’S EUROPEAN TRADE.
Received May 1, 5.5 p.m. New York, April 29. United States exports to Europe in March were valued at 200,000,000 dollars, compared with 465,000,000 dollars in the previous March, while the imports were 77,000,000 —a decrease of 50,000,000 dollars.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
PROBLEMS OF, INDIA.
Received May 1, 5.5 p.m. London, April 30. The text of the Indian Divorce Act, designed to remove hardships under a recent decision, has been dispatched to India, and will be introduced when the Indian Government views are received. The question of India’s adherence to Imperial preference will be considered next winter by the Indian Fiscal Commission, which was instituted in response to a suggestion by the Select Committee of the Indian Legislature. Probably an English economic expert will be included. —Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
