GYMNASIUM.
NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB.
A meeting of those interested was held in the Soldiers’ Club on Tuesday evening last for the purpose of forming a Gymnasium Club. Mr. C. Denny-Brown presided. There was a good attendance of enthusls.tsts and a club was formed to be called “The New Plymouth Gymnast Club.” The following officers were elected: President, Mr. C. DennyBrown ; vice-presidents, Dr. Fookes, Messrs. Waterson, W. H. Moyes, H. A. Stratford, W. C. Weston, J. McLeod and Robertshaw; captain, Mr. A. H. Blennerhassett; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. O. Edmonds; committee, Messrs. R. Morrison, D. Sykes, B. Bragg, Hamertqn and R. Howell. Permission has been granted to the club to use the Central School gymnasium once a week, and a meeting will be held every Wednesday evening. Capable instructors will be in charge, and it is certain that tte club will be of great benefit to the young men of the town, to whom a hearty Invitation to become members is extended.
