An interesting point was raised at Auckland before Mr. Cutten. S.M., recently, as to whether, after a divorce, a husband is still liable for an order for maintenance made in favor of his wife by flip Magistrate’s Court. Counsel contended that maintenance ceased when the divorce was declared by the superior Court, while, -on the other side, it was contended that an order was in force until conceded by the Court in which it was made. The matter will be decided after authorities have been looked up (says the .Star).
