BLONDE OR BRUNETTE.

A PARISIAN ARGUMENT. London, April 2. That fair hair is prejudicial to matrimonial chances is the startlingly sad discovery disturbing the minds of Parisian blondes. Discussion has raged for some time on this important subject, but it is now established beyond much doubt that on the average twice as many brunettes are offered marriage. r A month’s count taken in the Paris registry offices showed that 7'o per cent, of the brides were dark-haired. The brunettes spitefully declare that men fight shy of blondes because they are cold, fickle, and frivolous. The blondes tearfully argue that the standard types of all womanhood, including Eve and Venus, were fair, but they are in the meantime bugy rectifying matters in their 'own way—dyeing their hair, or else awaiting the restoration of i its neural color.
