TARANAKI LAND BOARD.

THE MONTHLY MEETING,

The usual monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Present: Messrs. H. J. Lowe (chair), C. J. Ryan, W. R. Cleland, J. W. H. Mar-, tin and S. Blake.

The application of W. G. Bidois for section 2, block HI, Pahi, was approved, and the* applications of S. Kindberg for section 43, block IX, Cape, and E. S. Bradey for section. 2s, Huia Settlement, were refused. The application, of Messrs. D. R., W. and E. T. Wright for the fee-simple of section 17, block HI, €>punake, was approved, and that of Frank Pearce for the fee-simple of section 16, block 11, Heao, was refused.

The following applications to transfer were approved:. Section- 17, block 111, Opunake, M. Carroll to D. R., W. and E. T. Wright; part section 2, block VIII, Mimi, R. Scott to. Newton King, Ltd.; part sections -508-511, Town of New Plymouth, F. B, O’Brien to R. T. McQuade; section 577, Town of New Plymouth, C. Carter to A. Burgess; section/2, block IX, Ngatimaru, E. Meuli to R. J. Mitchell : section 12, block V, Egmont, I).' S. Coulter to F. Beetham. The following applications to transfer were recommended for the approval of the Minister:—Section 6, block XIII, Cape, W. J. Crompton to J. D. Walshe; section 235, Huatoki Settlement, P. R. Draper to W. J. Crompton; section 6, block VI, Upper Waitara: Wm. Jones to A. F. Jones; sections 16, 27 and 7, block IV, Totoro, A. N. Bloomfield to C. R. Tebbutt. '

The aplieation to transfer section 3, block ITT, Waro, from H. H. Mayer to J. T. Harris was refused. An application by Mrs. Coad to subdivide her E.R. lease of . sections 803808, town of New Plymouth, was approved. The ranger reported on section 2, block VIII, Waro, and it was resolvetr to reserve for timber.' if possible; if not, to put up at £1 5s per acre, loaded with improvements. It was resolved to accept surrender of section 28s. Huatoki Settlement, held by James Butler. It was resolved to grant a renewable lease over sections 32 and 34, block IV, Opunake. Mr. F. P. Corkill was appointed arbitrator in the renewal of the leases of lots B and C, part section W, town of New Plymouth.
