THE EGMONT CLUB.
The annual meeting of the above Club was held, on Tuesday, Mr. T. Lawson, president, presiding over a large attendance of members. The balance-sheet disclosed a very healthy state, and the report dealt fully with matters affecting the members. Prior to the commencement of the business the following resolution was carried in silence, the members standing: That the members of the Egmont Club extend to Mrs. Coward and family their sincere and deepest sympathy in the irreparable loss they have sustained through the death of their husband and father. We trust they wil find solace in the knowledge that the members grieve with them because of the life of our comrade so full of promise, enthusiasm, unbounded energy, and high ideals being so suddenly cut off.
