IMPROPER USE.

During the hearing, of a sly-grog case in the Magistrate's Court to-day, Mr. Sievewright, an ex-captain of the expeditionary force, who was appearing for the accused, strongly commented on the fact that a returned soldiers’ badg • was worn by the investigating constat! « when obtaining the liquor. Counsel jected to the badge being desecrated this way by the police force. The Magistrate, Mr. Bundle, agr< . that the use of the badge in the <• .• cumstance was unfortunate.
