ILLEGAL SALE OF LIQUOR.

Wellington, Last Night. At the Police Court to-day Archibald West and Donald Murray were fined £lO and £2O respectively on charges of illegally selling liquor to Constable Edwards. The alternative imprisonment was fixed at fourteen and twenty-one days. Alfred Charles Morris, charged with the theft of £l5, the property of George Brett, proprietor of the Trocadero Hotel, was committed for trial. Accused was night porter at the hotel, and it is alleged he took the money from the till.
