LORD DERBY RETICENT.
London, April 25. Lord Derby, speaking at Liverpool, admitted that he went to Ireland incognito, because he desired freedom from the übiquitous reporter. He would not divulge whom- he saw, as it would be a ’breach of confidence. He had no mission from the Government, and went unknown to them, except the Premier. He was depressed by what he saw. He was going again.
Alluding to the reference to Mr. Lloyd George, he said he had no mandate from the Conservative Party to open its arms to the Premier or "from Mr. Lloyd George to say that he wished to fall into those arms. There was an old saying that a reformed poacher made the best lf so there could not be a better recruit to Unfonism thsn Mr. Lloyd George.
