THE FARR CASE. Received April 26, 10.15 p.m. Sydney, April 26. The evidence in the Farr case has concluded, and counsel have commenced their addresses. NAVAL DOCKYARDS INQUIRY. Received April 26, 10.15 p.m. Sydney, April 26. The commission appointed to inquire into the operations at the Cockatoo Island dockyard has commenced talking evidence. Commodore Edwards, in charge of naval establishments, gave evidence that the recent dismissals at the island were not due to lack of work, but to a shortage of funds. There was sufficient work at Cockatoo Island to employ all the men recently dispensed with. THE “SPIRITS” HOAX. Received April 26, 10.15 p.m. Sydney, April 26. The police have reason to believe there were several confederates in the Guyra hoax, including some pickets helping to guard the house and lay the ghost. A number of spiritualists who had gone to investigate are sore over the joke.
