A telegram from Wellington says Mr. F. D. Adams has been appointed Crown Prosecutor at Dunedin.

A Sydney cablegram reports the death of Mr. Cecil Murnin, a well-known footballer.

Mr. C. Farley, who has been general manager of Kaupokonui Dairy Factory for some years, has resigned his position.

A Christchurch message reports the death early yesterday morning, after a serious illness, of Miss Leah Selig, elder daughter of Mr. P. Selig, manager of the Christchurch Press Company.

The Rev. H. A. Coleman, who succeeded the Rev. C. H. Addenbrooke as vicar of Okato, arrived by the mail train on Monday, and at once proceeded to Okato. ,He is accompanied by his wife and family. Mr. Coleman arrived by the Remuera from England, where he had been vicar of a parish in Bolton. The death of Mr. James Walker, who had reached the age of 83 years, occur, red on Saturday at the Auckland Hospital. Mr. Walker came to New Zealand in 1863, and joined the colonial forces, serving in the Maori War under Major St. John. He was in engagements at the Wairaki Pa, and several other skirmishes on the East Coast, for which he received the New Zealand War Medal. After the Maori War he took his discharge and worked in the timber trade. He was a single man, and had Been an inmate of the Veterans? Home for the past year.
