Members of the Chamber of Commerce are reminded of the address to be given at the Soldiers’ Club by the Commissioner of Taxes.
Attention is invited to the advertisement of the address to be given by the Commissioner of Taxes to-night. The Commissioner’s visit was arranged for by the N.Z. Accountants’ SoAety, and it is hoped that all business people will take advantage of it.

Newton King, Ltd., advertise particulars of a clearing sale at Tataraimaka. Absolute clearance, vendor having sold farm. Offering includes a herd of good young cows, mostly Jerseys, 5 halfdraught horses, and all farm implements, etc.
A sensational motor-car accident occurred in Auckland in the. early hours of Tuesday morning. The car was proceeding to the city, and had just entered Symonds Street when the steering gear evidently failed, the car gettii|g out of control. It left the road and dashed into the posts supporting the verandah in front of the Auckland Bible House and Ebenezer Faith Mission. Three posts and a tramway stay were knocked down and the verandah collapsed. The car was seriously damaged. Mr. Wilcox was severely cut on the head. The only passenger in the car, Mr. W. J. Petrie, who was in the back seat, escaped with severe shakin. and a abrasions
