CHRISTCHURCH PLAYERS DEATH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, April 23. During the Christchurch-Sydenham Rugby match at the show grounds today, A. Aitken, a Sydenham player, received a blow above the heart and died on the way to hospital. Aitken played because there was a shortage in the team. During the first half someone cannoned into him and he was taken to the dressing-room, where he became unconscious. Aitken was a Canterbury representative in 1907-08, and was married.
