HOW THEY LOVE THE SOLDIERS.
THE ATTITUDE OF THE REDS. (Contributed by N.Z. Welfare League.) Our New Zealand posturers, Messrs. Holland, Fraser and Co., have been telling the people of Patea the same old chestnut, that they dearly love the exsoldiers of our little country. As evidence of how that brand of Socialists show their affection, take the following: “The New South Wales Government (Labor junta) has refuse 4 to join in with/the Commonwealth Government’s declaration of Anzac Day as a public holiday, which would give the public a chance of attending the solemn memorial services and gatherings which commemorate the splendid deeds of the Anzacs.” Now, the Storey Government is not even of a full red tint. It is certainly no deeper dyed red than the Holland Party.
If the returned men want to know where the Hollandites \yere when they were at the front, they have only got to look up the records of the Red Cross Societies, War Relief Societies, and all other bodies that helped their dependents, and they will find that very few of the Reds were on active service of relief. The glaring hypocrisy of their present day professions is an open insult to the men who took .part in the war. With all their flamboyant internationalist talk about peace and brbtherhood they cannot hide the fact that during the war period they were as grossly selfish as the most avaricious profiteers and exploiters could possibly be. I Judged by their actions they stand as la party utterly condemned on account fc of shirking and selfishnee®
