The Rarawa was delayed several hours by a rough bar at Manukau on Thursday afternoon, but was able to cross on the flood tide at 8 o’clock, and arrived at New Plymouth shortly before 9 o’clock yesterday morning. Her cargo of 200 tons Included 60 tons of sugar. The vessel returned to Onehunga last night, and, on account of Anzac Day on Monday, will next be here on Wednesday morning. Her departure is set down for 4 o’clock that afternoon. PORT PIRIE ARRIVES. The C. and D. steamer Port Pirie, from London, via Auckland and Wellington, was berthed yesterday morning, drawing 17ft. ,2in. forward and 29ft. sin. aft. It is expected that the vessel will be here about a week, discharging 1924 tons of slag and other cargo, and loading about 500 tons of genera! cargo. She proceeds to Port Chalmers for cleaning and painting before completing Homeward loading at New Zealand ports. Captain W. Mason is now in command, and has with him the following officers: Chief officer, Mr. Enwright; second, Mr. W. L. Twigden; third, Mr. D. Barling; fourth, Mr. L. Copeland; chief engineer, Mr. Bridger; second, Mr. Bentley; third, Mr. Webb; fourth, Mr. Wake; fifth, Mr. Murray; sixth, Mr. Phillips; chief refrigerating engineer, Mr. Duffy; second, Mr. Cleghorn; wireless operator, Mr. J. Davts; chief steward, Mr. Hunt.
The dimensions of the Port Pirie are:— Dead weight tonnage, 10,780 tons; gross register 7361 tons; length 490 ft. over all; beam, 58ft. THE PORT HACKING. The C. and D. Line steamer Port Hacking arrived at Nelson yesterday morning from Port Chalmers for loading. The vessel will leave Nelson to-morrow for Wanganui roadstead, New Plymouth, and Wellington. She is due at Wellington on May 7, and is to sail on May 12 for London via Panama. HORORATA LEFT COLON. Cable advice has been received by the New Zfealand Shipping Company that their liner Hororata arrived at Panama on the 17th inst. from Wellington, and left Colon on the 18th for London. ULIMAROA LEFT SYDNEY. The Huddart Parker Company’s inter-colo-nial passenger steamer Ulimar«a left Sydney on Thursday for Wellington, where she is due on Monday. Owing to Monday being a holiday the vessel will not commence discharge of her cargo until Tuesday morning. The Uliimaroa will not go to Lyttelton, but is to leave Wellington on Thursday next on the return trip to Sydney and Hobart. RUAHINE LEFT NEWPORT. The New Zealand Shipping Company have been notified by cable that their liner Ruahine arrived at Newport News on the 17th Inst, from Wellington, and sailed again on the 18th for Southampton and London. CARPENTARIA LEFT ST. JOHN. Caole advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company announces that the Carpentaria left St. John on the 17th Inst, for Auckland, Wellington and other New Zealand ports. The vessel is due at Auckland about Ma‘y 26, and at Wellington about a week latei. THE PORT DARWIN. The G and D. Line steamer Port Darwin left Sydney at 3 p.m. on Wednesday for Auckland, cargo-laden from London. The vessel is due at Auckland on Monday, at Napier on May 1, and at Wellington on May 5. After discharge she will load in New Zealand for London. ORARI LEFT LONDON. Cable advice has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Orarl left London on the 15th instant for Wellington, via Newport News. The vessel is expected at Wellington about June 3. OPAWA LEFT NEWPORT. According to a cable message received by the New Zealand Shipping Company their liner Opawa left Newport News on the 17th inst. for London, en route from Wellington. DORSET LEFT COLON. A cable message received by the New Zealand Shipping Company announces that the Dorset arrived at Panama on the 16th inst. from Wellington, and left Colon on the same day fpr London. > SHIPPING TELEGRAMS.
