GOLF.
NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. A medal match was played on .the New Plymouth Club’s links on Thursday, the best score being returned by J. P. Murphy. This afternoon a medal match will be played. ELTHAM CLUB. A party of nine members of the Stratford Golf Club journeyed to Eltham on Thursday afternoon to attend the opening day of the Eltham Golf Club. A very enjoyable mixed foursomes bogey competition was played, players attending from both Eltham and Hawera. The links were in very good order, and auger well for the future prosperity of the Eltham Club. The winners of the competition proved to be two Stratford representatltves, E. S. Rutherford and. Mrs. Howard, who finished with a score of two down. STRATFORD CLUB. The Stratford Club will open the season, this afternoon with mixed foursomes.
