THE PEA RIFLE AGAIN. By Telegraph.- -Press Association. Invercargill, April 21. Mabin Smith, aged 21, has been taken to hospital, suffering from a bullet woun'd in the abdomen. He was engaged with two others at target practice with .a pea rifle when he was accidentlly shot. His condition is critical. • SUICIDE IN AUCKLAND. ♦ Auckland, April 21. Jake Stroude committed suicide by cutting his throat in a boarding-house. He left a note suggesting that the act was premeditated, also a will leaving his property and effects to his sister in .London. Stroude, who is believed to be a Londoner byk birth, was a director of an. ironsand company, and engineer and contractor by occupation.
