The Senate voted the ratification of the treaty with Columbia, under which the United States will pay 25 million dollars in settlement of differences arising out of the United States’ position in the canal zone in 1903. SEAMEN’S WAGES REDUCED. New York, April 19. * The American Steamship Owners’ Association, controlling ocean liners, has reduced the wages of employees, to be effective from May 1. The reduction eliminates pay for overtime.
