MR. HUGHES’ POSITION. VOTE OF CONFIDENCE CARRIED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. Melbourne, April 21. Mr. Hughes’ test motion was carried by 46 votes to 23. The voting was strictly on party lines. Dr Earl Page reiterated that the Country Party would not guarantee immunity during the absence of Mr. Hughes, -But would take no undue advantage. An amendment by Mr. Considine that Mr. Hughes resign was negatived by 46 votes to 23. The Country Party voted solidly for t r Hughes’ motion. Hr Hughes intends to depart for Eng- . —nd next week.
