DISTRICT NEWS.
MATAU. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Clifton County Council have had a. man employed for a week clearing and prospecting the. seam of blue rock at Matau. So far about 800 cubic yards have been uncovered, but a much larger sum of money will have to be expended before it can be ascertained whether there is sufficient rock in the seam for roads requiring the metal.
