THE EAST.
HATRED OF ENGLAND. PROPAGANDA IN TURKEY. THE LINK WITH INDIA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received April 20, 9.45 p.m. Constantinople, April 19. The Afghan diplomatic mission has arrived at Angora. The leader, Ihmen Khan, is delivering Anglophobe speeches, which are being widely published. In an interview he stated it was the duty of the entire Islamic world to assist the Nationalists as allies. Afghanistan had not concluded an entente with England, who was daily finding it more difficult to cope with the Indian revolution. Afghanistan had unsheathed the sword in defence of her independence, and only when this purpose was attained would she return the sword to the scabbard. The Pan-Islamic fever is raging with unprecedented violence in Antolia, and Anglophobe propaganda continues unabated. The propaganda has now turned against the Italians, as a result of an alleged change in policy, and the Nationalists are displaying a threatening and truculent attitude. It is reported from Nationalist sources that the Angora Council has nominated Sheik Ahmed Elsenussi as a candidate for the Throne of Mesopotamia. He has gone to MobsuL—Times Service.
