DAVIS CUP PROCEEDS. NEW ZEALAND TO PARTICIPATE. By Telegraph,—Press Assn.—Copyright. Afelbourne, April 19. The New Zealand Tennis Association has notified the Tennis Association of Australia of its intention to withdraw from the latter body at the end of twelve months. It is explained that the effect of the withdrawal will be that the New Zealand Association will get one-third of all the net unapplied proceeds derived from the Davis Cup competitions. New Zealand, for Davis Cup purposes, will still remain a partner of Australia, but will no longer be entitled to claim that any challenge round shall be played in ( New Zealand, or have any claim on the profits. Should New Zealand alm at ranking as an independent nation capable of challenging for the Davis Cup, the existing regulations would require altering. DAVIS CUP PLAYERS. London, April 18. Probably the Punjab’ champions, S. M. Jacob and Mahomed Sleem, will represent India in the Davis Cup singles contest against France at Paris. Jacob and L. S. Deane will represent India in the doubles, Gobert and Laurentz will represent France.
