There is on view in the window of the Melbourne Clothing Company a very handsome doll’s bedstead with doll and clothes complete. Mr. Lobb presented the bedstead and mattress, and Mrs. Scanlan made all the clothes and dressings, which are most attractive. The gift' will form one of the competitions for the Central School on Thursday. The death occurred at Invercargill last week of Mr. Andrew Burns Raeside, a well-known and respected citizen, who devoted a considerable part of his time and "energy to public affairs. Mr. Raeside was born at Paisley (Scotland) 69 years ago, being the son of Mr. John Raeside, cattle dealer.
