CENTRAL SCHOOL.
NEXT WEEK’S “AT HOME.” The ladies’ committee met yesterday afternoon, the Mayoress, Mrs. F. E. Wilson, presiding Highly satisfactory progress was reported by the stallholders, and much detail work was accomplished. It was agreed that the stall-holders arrange their own decorating and that they wear the school colors, as will also the girls assisting in the tea room. The coinmitt&e will be glad to receive offers of help to cart greenery, produce, forms, etc., on Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Milne has the lighting arrangements well forward. Over sixty old pupils attended in the evening and much evidence was given of a ready desire to make the day successful.
At the meeting of the old girls at the Central School last night some beautiful specimens of needlework were handed in. The articles shown are a credit to the girls and promise to be one of the attractive displays on Thursday i next.
About twenty entries have been received for the old boys-’ race of 120 yards at the Central School on Thursday next. Handicaps will b» published oft Monday.
