CREDIT ON YEAR’S WORKING By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. With commendable promptitude the tramway department the City Council has prepared a full summary of the revenue accounts for the year ended March 31 last, the most satisfactory feature of the return being that it reveals a credit balance of £3231. The revenue for the year totalled £347,695, of which passenger fares ( £333,772) was the largest amount. Il the previous year the total revenue amounted to £277,087. The total working expenses for 1920-21 amounted to £289,320, against £209,430 for the previous year. To the above must be added special expenditure for various purposes amounting to £55,144. Increased wages and the price of coal were largely responsible for the increased working expenses.
