DANCER NOT OVER.

THREAT ONLY SUSPENDED. NEGOTIATIONS MAY BE LENGTHY. Received April 13, 1.30 a.m. London, April IL In the House of Commons, Mr. Chamberlain, moving a formal address of thanks for his Majesty’s message relating to the reserve forces proclamation, stated that the Miners’ Federation’s instruction g with regard to no interference with pumping had been generally followed. He feared the negotiations would take a considerable time and would be very difficult. <f We must not flatter ourselves that we are out of danger,” he added. Mr. Chamberlain pointed out that the threat of an extension of the dispute to the whole transport industry had been suspended and not withdrawn, and therefore it was necessary to continue precautions. The community must show that if its existence was attacked it was able to protect itself. Labor cries: “No provocative language.” Mr. Chamberlain replied that he was anxious that nothing should be said to make a fair and honorable settlement impossible. He urged the adjournment of the discussion.

The debate was adjourned till to-morrow.—Aus-N.Z. Cable- Assn. •
