GRADING OF HEMP.

COMPLAINTS BY BUYERS. By Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Complaints have been made to the Chamber of Commerce by overseas buyers of hemp in Australia, the United States and Great Britain that there has lately been a serious departure from the uniformity which characterised the grading of Nw Zealand hemp hitherto, and as a consequence overseas buyers threatened to turn their attention to •other fibres unless an immediate improvement took place in the standard of grading. The matter had been discussed by hemp exporters, who admitted there were some grounds for the complaints. They were general complaints, and they are to be tabulated and forwarded with representations on the subject to the Minister of Agriculture.
