SOUTH AUSTRALIAN (ELECTIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received April 10, 5.5 .p.m. Adelaide, April 10. Polling was heavy at the State -elections, owing to the fact that four ties were in the field, in addition to Independents. The leaders fear there will be much vote-splitting, particularly as the .prohibition issue obtruded. The counting is so slow that at present no indication is possible as to the state of parties, but it is practically certain thatall the Ministers are safe. The Premier is sanguine of victory. NAVAL DEFENCE. Received April 10, 11.30 p.m. Sydney, April 10. Admiral Grant has returned from the Singapore naval conference. He furnishes a report to the Government next, week.
