This is the fourth competition in Auckland, and is the second with single pens, the first two being with the ordinary team pens of six birds. It is interesting to note that in the last three competitions the winning heavy-breed team has put up a higher total than the winning light-breed team, which will rather surprise those who think Leghorns are the only birds that can win. Silver Wyandottes have twice won the heavy-breed section. The duck total is the highest ever put up in Auckland. This has been the largest competition ever held in Auckland or any part of New Zealand.
