EVERYBODY’S. LAST NIGHT OF “HAUNTING SHADOWS.” If you are imaginative—if the mystery of the unknown and unseen grips you with icy fingers and you enjoy the thrill of spasmodic shivers jazzing up and down your spine, you will want to see H. B. Warner in “Haunting Shadows,” his latest production. It is an absorbing mystery drama filmed from the greatest mystery story of generations “The House of a Thousand Candles,” by Meredith Nicholson. Those who have read the story will find in this screen version something that the book could not give them —realistic visualization of action and settings which makes more vivid the uncanny, atmosphere that pervades the story. For real thrills and mystery “Haunting Shadows” is a classic, and through it all runs a love romance for a girl who seemed just as mysterious as everybody else. The final screening is announced for to-night. J. Carroll, Snowy Baker plays the part of the elusive bushranger known as “The Shadow of Lightning Ridge,” and he is supported by a full company of Australian artists, including Brownie Vernon, Beronice Vere and Wilfred Lucas. “The Shadow of Lightning Ridge” is a seven reel drama showing the conflict of men of might with love, jealously and hatred urging them on.
