PERSIA.

NEW POLICY ADOPTED. FOREIGN TROOPS TO LEAVE. INDEPENDENCE AIMED AT. «y Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright, Received April 6, 7.40 p.m. Washington, April 5. The Persian Minister has submitted to the State Department a statement of the policy of the new Persian Government, which includes the abrogation of the Anglo-Persian Treaty, and the evacuation of all foreign troops from Persia. The Government’s programme also includes the re-organisation of the army, the dissolution of the courts, the establishment of justice on a different basis, the partition of Government lands amongst the peasants, and the revision of certain concessions, and an invitation will be extended to foreign advisers to organise the country. It is believed this policy will hasten America’s decision on the question of recognition of the Persian Government, and the United States will champion anew me cause of Persian independence. —Aus.-N.Z.
