SINN FEIN MURDER.
A SENSATION IN ENGLANL SEARCH FOR MURDERERS.' By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright / Received April 5, 5.5 p.m. London, April 4. The Sinn Fein murder at Ashford has created a sensation. A flying motor squad from Scotland Yard, comprising detectives who are all skilled revolver shots, is searching the district for the murderers, who are believed to be in hiding. A woman identified the dead man in the mortuary. She says he was recently on duty in Ireland, and was on leave when he was murdered. The police have reconstructed the crime from the mud stains and other indications on the body. They say the victim was caught a considerable distance away, and forced into a car by two men, who, together with the driver, drove along Kingston Road to the golf course, where the man was dragged from the car and forced to kneel and say his prayers, then being killed by three revolver shots.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
Golf caddies found the body of a murdered man on the Ashford links, Middlesex, and also a paper warning spies and signed “Irish Republicans”.
