R.S.A. COMPLAINTS.
THE TREATMENT OF ASIATICS. THE HOME SERVICE MEDAL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Ltst Night. It was stated at a meeting of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association, in connection with the repatriation of Asiatics, that an Indian was refused a passage back to his native land and had become mentally deranged and was committed to an asylum. It was decided to forward to the Prime Minister a letter asking the Government to bring pressure to bear on all shipping companies to ensure the granting of passages to all Asiatics desiring to leave the Dominion. The association stressed its policy of a white New Zealand. The Otago Association wrote protesting against the issue of a home service medal, which was considered a waste of good metal and money, and which would cheapen the purpose for which medals were issued. The matter was referred to the Dominion executive conference in June.
