The party was conducted over various portions of the work, and the civil engineering portions of the sehjjne were outlined by Mr. Blair Mason, ijl'he visitors were greatly impressed with what they saw, and with the magnitude of the undertaking generally, which was apparently a revelation. The visit undoubtedly helped members to obtain a dearer conception of what was being aimed at, and they seem convinced that the sdierne has great possibilities, and will do wlrat is claimed, for it. The completion of the partial scheme will provide 1500 h.p. for the outside districts) and this will satisfy the demand in the meantime, and with the completion oi the whole scheme at least another 300 C h.p. will be available, which, with the linking up of the smaller schemes in Taranaki, will assure an ample supply of hydro-electric power for the province.
