Bl Williams, and George Winstone, junr., formerly directors of the Dominion Portland Cement Co., should contribute £190,000 to the company’s assets for alleged misfeasance and breaches of trust, which was heard by Mr. Justice Sim in the Supreme Court, was dismissed with costs. HELP FOR CHINA. Wellington, April 2. The Hon. Downie Stewart announces that the Government forwards without cost contributions for the relief of the Chinese famine. The chairman of the British Famine Relief Committee at Pekin has sent a further appeal to Lord Jellicoe, emphasising the need for assistance to supplement the Chinese Government’s efforts. A British organisation has been established to buy grain. Fluids are badly required. It is estimated that £1 will save one life. The Minister says that to date £1137 lias been remitted.
